2000 – 2012

In this period many of my landscapes and urban portraits were inspired by my yourneys amongst others in the Mediterranean, Italy and Spain. I worked out my sketches in my studio or at the Campo dell’ Altissimo in Tuscany, Italy and the International Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria, where I followed courses in painting and worked by Ulla Preising and Jacobo Borges. In this period I discovered acrylics as a painting medium, giving me the opportunity to experiment in layers of colour. The Spanish landscapes where composed from pictures I took from the train. They show a landscape from above as is also the case in my series Dolce in Italy. These ‘landscapes from above’ are more abstract than those of the Mediterranean which are frontal and figurative. The Spanish and Austrian landscapes were exhibited at Galerie De Witte kamer in Delden and at Kunstkring Het Gelders Eiland in Aerdt. My Italian work was shown at Ziekenhuisgroep Twente in Hengelo.
